Tavli privacy policy

Last updated 21 September 2026

Tavli is made by DIMITRIS KONTARIS CREATIVE LIMITED (London, United Kingdom).

The short version. Tavli has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server of ours. The app stores your settings on your device and nothing else. We do not receive any information about you.

What we collect

Nothing. The app runs no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind. Its privacy manifest declares no data collection and no tracking.

What the app keeps

On your device: your choice of board, table and app icon; whether the doubling cube, move hints, the pip count, sounds and haptics are on; your last choice of game and the game you left unfinished, with its dice; your lifetime dice statistics; and whether you have bought the unlock, so it shows at once when the app opens.

If you use iCloud, your settings and dice statistics are also kept in your own iCloud account, so they follow you to your other devices. They stay in your iCloud, where we cannot see them, and iCloud is covered by Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the app removes what is on the device; the copy in iCloud belongs to your Apple Account, and signing out of iCloud or turning it off stops the app using it.

Game Center

Online matches use Apple's Game Center. When you play online, Apple handles who you are; the other player sees the nickname and picture you have set in Game Center, and the moves of the game are stored by Apple as part of the match so both players can see them. We do not run a server and do not receive the match. Game Center is governed by Apple's privacy policy. If you never play online, Game Center is never used.

Paying for the unlock

"Full tavli" is a one-off purchase made through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, your Apple Account or your billing details. Whether you have bought it is recorded by Apple against your Apple Account, which is also how it restores on a new device and how it reaches your family through Family Sharing.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising code. The portes computer opponent uses wildbg, an open-source engine that runs entirely on your device and makes no network requests.

Children

Tavli is rated 4+ and collects no information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date. The app will not start collecting data without this page saying so first.
